DISCLOSURE REGARDING DOCUMENT VERIFICATION AND BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
Lapcert Integrity Services, a Cameroon’s Trusted Verification Partner with registration number (“TPPRR/RC/BUA/2026/B/085”) may obtain information about you from academic institutions, professional bodies, employers, and other authorized third parties for the purpose of verifying your credentials and conducting employment background checks.
Thus, you may be the subject of a “verification report” and/or “background investigation report” which may include information about your education, professional qualifications, employment history, criminal record, and other relevant personal data. These reports may involve direct contact with institutions, employers, or authorities to confirm authenticity of records.
You have the right, upon written request made within a reasonable time, to know whether a verification report has been conducted about you, the nature and scope of such report, and to request a copy of your report.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND AUTHORIZATION FOR DOCUMENT VERIFICATION AND BACKGROUND CHECK
I acknowledge receipt of the DISCLOSURE REGARDING DOCUMENT VERIFICATION AND BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION provided by Lapcert Integrity Services (“the Company”) and certify that I have read and understood this section.
I hereby authorize Lapcert Integrity Services to obtain verification reports and/or background investigation reports at any time after receipt of this authorization and throughout the verification process. To this end, I authorize, without reservation, any academic institution, professional body, employer, government agency, or other relevant authority to furnish any and all background information requested by Lapcert Integrity Services.
I agree that an electronic signature or scanned copy of this Authorization shall be as valid as the original.
COMPLIANCE WITH DATA PROTECTION LAWS
Lapcert Integrity Services shall conduct all verification activities in accordance with:
- Cameroon’s Data Protection Law (December 2024), which establishes rights for data subjects, requires lawful and transparent processing, and mandates accountability for data controllers.
- Law No. 2010/012 on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime in Cameroon, which includes provisions on confidentiality and lawful use of data.
- International standards, including principles from the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection (Malabo Convention), which emphasize consent, data minimization, confidentiality, and the right to rectification.
The Company commits to handling personal data responsibly, securely, and only for the stated purpose of verification.
CLIENT RIGHTS
Under Cameroon’s Data Protection Law and international frameworks, the Client retains the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request access to personal data processed.
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of data when no longer necessary.
- Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how data is used.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw authorization at any time, subject to legal obligations.
